Collection: I Have The Right To Charity Bracelet
This bracelet was created to support a very important and dear-to-my-heart non-profit organization, I Have The Right To
25% of the net proceeds of the sale from this bracelet will be donated to this organization.
IHTRT, works with parents, schools, and communities to support survivors of sexual assault and create consent education programs for high schools.
In 2014, Chessy Prout was a freshman at St. Paul’s School, a prestigious boarding school in New Hampshire, when a senior boy sexually assaulted her as part of a ritualized game of conquest. Chessy bravely reported her assault to the police and testified against her attacker in court. Then, in the face of horrific backlash from her once-trusted school community, she shed her anonymity to help other survivors find their voice. One person at a time, Chessy built a circle of survivors who took a magnifying glass to the institutions that turn a blind eye to such behavior and a society that blames victims rather than perpetrators. Chessy writes about her experiences in her memoir I Have the Right To: A High School Survivor’s Story of Sexual Assault, Justice, and Hope.
Chessy and her mother, Susan Prout, founded I Have The Right To, a 501c3 dedicated to advocacy, support, and assistance of victims of sexual assault. The mission of the organization is to encourage survivors to assert their most important basic rights. Chessy uses voice to advocate and reassure other victims of sexual assault that they are not alone.
